Use of Online Directories Policy

The Use of Online Directories Policy sets forth the rights and responsibilities of Baylor University, its faculty, staff, and students in their roles as members of the University community using information derived from official Baylor online directories.

This policy updates the University’s previous Directory Information Use Policy.

Overview of Policy Changes:

• The revised policy has been retitled and placed in the approved format for University policies.

• The list of information included in online directories has been updated.

• The use of information section of this policy was revised to include information on how FERPA impacts the use of student directory information.

• A prohibition on using information derived from University online directories for commercial, political, or non-University marketing, communications or fundraising purposes, or any purpose in violation of law or University policy has been added.
