Risk recommends 10 business days to become an approved driver. This allows you 5 business days to complete your training and the application, acknowledge reading the Baylor Driving Policy, complete and upload your application. Risk Services then has 5 business days to review the application, run and review the applicant’s motor vehicle record and complete the application process.
If you have finished your training, acknowledged reading the Baylor Driving Policy, ensured you have fully completed the application and uploaded the application to the correct folder, the application is being worked on by the Risk team. We will reach out to you if there are any issues.
The new approval process allows you to assign yourself the training to fulfill your needs as a Baylor driver. Once you’ve completed all of your training and read and acknowledged the Baylor driving policy, you can upload your application for further processing.
No training will be sent. All of your training needs will be handled through the UE website. You can save your training at any point and resume the module when it’s convenient for you.
You will receive an email that states your approved vehicles as well as your expiration date. The supervisor you listed on your application will also receive the approval email. You will be added to the online Approved Driver List which is organized by last name and by department. This list is updated online approximately twice a month. You can find it here on the Driving for Baylor Webpage: https://www.baylor.edu/risk/index.php?id=871837
You do not need to do anything until your approval expires. At that time, you'll need to log into the United Educators website and complete all of the required trainings.
If you are already approved and wish to add golf cart or 12-passenger van approvals, please email Risk@Baylor.edu for additional instructions.
Once you complete your initial training through the UE site, it will track your expiration and notify you when you are coming up on renewal time. Until then, please check the Approved Driver List for your expiration date.
As long as you have completed the two required modules (Driver Safety Fundamentals and Defensive Driving Strategies) you can self-assign the golf cart and van modules. Golf cart and van modules CANNOT be taken until you complete the prerequisite modules. If you complete golf and/or van modules at a time other than when you go through the initial training process, please email Risk@Baylor.edu telling us what module(s) and date of completion so we can update your approval. There are no longer required training modules for ATV/UTVs or trailers. If you need boat training, indicate it on your application and Risk Services will reach out with further instructions
Your training is self-paced. Risk Services will not act on any approvals until you have completed all of your modules. Do not upload your application until you have completed ALL of the modules you indicate on your application. Any applications that are uploaded prior to the completion of training will be deleted.
