Policy on Clinical Faculty at Baylor University
The Policy on Clinical Faculty at Baylor University provides guidance for faculty and administrators with respect to Clinical Faculty members’ roles, responsibilities, review, and progress toward promotion.
This policy updates the University’s previous Clinical Faculty Policy.
Overview of Policy Changes:
• The policy has been put into the new format, including the addition of the summary items at the beginning.
• While the current version of the policy states that appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor will not be granted by default, an addition in the new version clarifies that no promotion among Clinical faculty is awarded by default, nor is promotion a contractual right that an individual can earn by merely fulfilling a specific list of achievements.
• While the current version of the policy states that the appointment of a Clinical Faculty member may be canceled as a result of the Dismissal process, the new version clarifies that such an appointment may also be canceled as a result of the faculty member’s resignation.
