Group Insurance Policy
The Group Insurance Policy provides details on the plans that are covered under the University’s group insurance and the definition of a spouse and dependents that employees can cover under their plan(s). The policy provides enrollment and continuation of coverage details and instructions.
This policy updates the University’s previous Group Insurance Policy as well as incorporates language form the Group Medical and Group Dental policies to allow all three policies to be consolidated into one policy.
Overview of the Revised Policy:
• This policy was revised to update the definition of an eligible spouse.
• This policy was revised to include enrollment and continuation of coverage language from the Group Medical and Group Dental policies to allow these policies to be consolidated into one policy.
• This policy was revised to reflect a change in the amount of time a former employee or employee who is no longer eligible for group insurance is able to enroll in continuation of coverage. The election period is being changed from 30 days to 60 days.
