Faculty Dismissal Policy
The Faculty Dismissal Policy describes the appropriate rationale and process for dismissing a faculty member whose employment is secured—through tenure or other kinds of contractual letters of appointment.
The Faculty Dismissal Policy is being updated to incorporate changes recommended by the Faculty Dismissal Committee. Summary changes are:
Adding a provision for requesting BUPD or public safety at a hearing
Adding a step for outcomes to be communicated back to the Faculty Dismissal Committee
Clarifying that temporary faculty (part time and full time) are excluded
