Policy on Full-Time Lecturers and Senior Lecturers at Baylor University
The Policy on Full-Time Lecturers and Senior Lecturers at Baylor University sets forth the roles and responsibilities of lecturers.
Updates of the policy include:
• Removes the University-level restriction on Lecturers and Senior Lecturers serving on committees that make recommendations regarding the appointment of faculty to tenure-track and tenured positions (and to remove similar language about their service on dismissal committees, although the Faculty Dismissal Policy, BU-PP 705, specifies that membership of those committees would consist of tenured faculty members)
• Clarifies the relationship of the policy to Baylor’s mission and to legal requirements
• Clarifies the relationship of the policy to adjunct (part-time) lecturers
• Clarifies terms of and obligations to Temporary Lecturers
• Clarifies termination of employment upon death
