COA Governance Policy

The COA Governance Policy sets forth rules and standards regarding how the University’s Chart of Accounts (COA) will be structures and the responsibilities and requirements for maintaining the COA. The policy addresses the process by which changes to the COA can be proposed and how such changes will be evaluated.

Overview of the Policy:

The policy defines principles to be used in the creation and modification of the Chart of Accounts used to accumulate and disseminate financial information for the University.

The policy defines the procedures for submitting requests for changes to the COA and how the guiding principles will be used in evaluating such requests.

The policy establishes a COA Governance Committee to regularly review the ongoing relevance of the COA structure, as well as review and take action on change requests.
